Artist Name: Jessica Hancock
|Jessica Hancock was born in Ogden, Utah in 1972. She studied Art and Communication at Westminster College of Salt Lake City, Utah, and received a double-major and Bachelor of Science degree with great distinction in 1998. Jessica lives and works in Salt Lake City, Utah and Indianapolis, Indiana.
Since her first solo exhibition in 2013, Jessica Hancock’s work has been the focus of solo exhibitions, featured in over 70 art shows, and the subject of several international art magazines including ArtAscent Art & Literature Journal (Ontario, Canada) and ArtistTalk Magazine (London, UK). She is the recipient of various honors and awards, including membership with the National Association of Women Artists, the National Watercolor Society, and the American Watercolor Society. She was named Artist of the Year in October, 2021 by the Nickel Plate Arts Association (Noblesville, Indiana) for her work decorating the Alhuda Masjid and Islamic Center of Central Indiana, and Illustrator of the Year, in October, 2019 by ADC Fine Art Associates (Cincinnati, Ohio) for her abstract geometric art. Residencies include the Stutz Artist Association (Indianapolis, Indiana) program in 2015, the Butler University Religion, Spirituality, and the Arts (RSA) Symposium in 2016, and at the Indiana University Purdue University RSA symposium in 2021. Jessica is twice published by Westminster John Knox Press.
