Artist Bio

Nizar MacNojia’s fascination in art kindled at an early age when he became fascinated by the world of colors and figures. He had his first exhibition in Karachi in 1983 and immigrated to the US in 1984. He now resides in Houston, Texas where he creates commissioned artworks including portraits, landscapes, abstract, and Islamic Art.
His artistic career has consisted of many group exhibitions and multiple solo exhibitions such as in the Islamic Arts Festival, Arts of the Islamic World in City Hall Houston, Asia Society Texas, Daya Houston’s Gala as well as the Jubilee Games in Dubai. His exhibitions have also taken place in museums such as in the Children’s Museum of Houston, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and Pearl Fincher Museum. He is known to do live painting demonstrations to raise money for charity. His art is also featured on the cover of the 2019 edition of The Ismaili USA Magazine for Women Empowerment.
Inspired by Rembrandt, Guljee, Michael Angelo, and Leonardo da Vinci throughout his artistic career, he created a radical flow of love for art. He believes his art is his third eye, an eye for colors, patterns, shadows, light, and intricate designs. Through his third eye, he dreams up a curtain of pigments and shades that he masks over his canvas to share with the world.
